I test AI companion apps with my own money.
I trained as a teacher, then spent six years as a QA tester for mobile games: the job where you tap every button, read every price screen and file a bug when the app lies to you. In 2022 I started testing adult apps the same way, and AI companions took over that work almost completely.
I’m 34, married for twelve years, and I share the house with a cat named Miso and a dog named Bruno. My wife knows exactly what I test and occasionally reads the drafts. I write under a pen name because this niche attracts the wrong kind of attention, not because anything here is made up.
What I do on every platform
- Pay with my own card. No press accounts, no free access.
- Run the same three conversation scripts.
- Test memory after one week with a planted detail.
- Read the privacy policy in full and grade it.
- Record the real monthly cost once images, voice and tokens are added.
Scores follow one fixed protocol, described on the How we test page. I never accept payment for a placement in a ranking.
How this site makes money
