CrushOn Review (2026): Hands-On With the Loosest Mainstream AI Chat App
Weeks on the Cyprus-run no-filter character platform that absorbed the Character.AI exodus. What the free tier really allows, how message credits, reply caps and the six-rung pricing ladder work, why the privacy policy earns an F, and who should pick something else.
Verdict. CrushOn.ai is the cheapest paid uncensored chat that actually delivers: $58.88 a year for the Standard plan, a library of tens of thousands of user-made characters, most of them adult, and a filter the platform advertises as the point. The free tier is unlimited on the basic models with 225-character replies, the paid ladder has six rungs and a credit meter, the chat is terse and repetitive on the cheaper plans, and the privacy policy says your chats train the models with no opt-out. Best value on the NSFW list; worst paperwork on it too.
CrushOn.ai calls itself a no-filter NSFW character AI chat in its own page title, and that is the most honest thing about the product. It is the platform that filled up when Character.AI tightened its filter, and the library shows it: tens of thousands of user-made characters, most of them explicitly adult, sorted by a community that has been self-policing since 2023. If SpicyChat is the biggest library in the category, CrushOn is the loosest one with a proper interface around it, and that is the whole reason it is on the NSFW ranking.
The second thing to know is the pricing ladder, because it is the busiest in the category and it decides whether CrushOn is a bargain or a trap. Free is unlimited on the basic models with replies capped at 225 characters and 100 message credits a month for the better ones. Standard costs $58.88 a year, about $4.91 a month, for 2,000 credits and 275-character replies. Above it sit Premium, Luxe, Elite and Imperial up to $1,799.99 a year, plus a Pro Models Chat Package add-on, plus coins, plus bonus message packs. Every number here comes from the pricing page and the FAQ, checked on September 27, 2026, five days after the terms of service were last revised.
I ran CrushOn through the same protocol as every platform on this site: the free tier first, long enough to burn the monthly credits, then a paid year of Standard because the page shows no monthly price, the three conversation scripts on the free and the Pro models, the long-roleplay script to find where memory breaks, group chat, and the privacy policy, terms and community guidelines read in full. The refund clause and the cancellation steps are described from the FAQ and the terms; the $0.99 age-check charge that Trustpilot reviewers complain about is described from their reports, because my account was not asked for it.
What is CrushOn?
CrushOn.ai is an uncensored character chat platform run by TECHIEPIE LTD of Nicosia, Cyprus, under Hong Kong law, live since 2023. You chat with user-made characters, tens of thousands of them and mostly adult, or build your own, with an NSFW toggle that is off by default and a filter that lets adult fiction through once it is on. It runs on the web, as an iOS app and as an Android APK downloaded from the site. A free tier with unlimited basic-model chat and 100 monthly credits sits under a six-rung paid ladder from $58.88 a year (Standard) to $1,799.99 a year (Imperial), which mainly buys message credits for the better models, longer replies and more memory.
How I tested CrushOn
Week one was the free tier: unlimited chat on the basic models, 100 credits for the Pro models that went in two evenings, the 225-character reply cap that shapes every conversation, and the upgrade prompt that follows you around once the credits are gone. Week two onward was Standard on the annual plan, $58.88, because the pricing page offers no monthly billing for it; I ran the three scripts on the basic and the Pro models, the long-roleplay script to find the point where a character forgets the setup, a group chat with three characters, and the same read of the terms, privacy policy and community guidelines I do everywhere. Premium and the Luxe, Elite and Imperial tiers are described from the pricing page and user reports, not from my own card.
- Plans checked: Free; Standard $58.88/yr; Premium $94.88/yr; Luxe $299.99/yr; Elite $799.99/yr; Imperial $1,799.99/yr; Pro Models Chat Package add-on (price not shown on the pricing page)
- Free tier limits: Unlimited chat on the basic models, 100 message credits a month for Pro models, 225-character replies, 8K memory, 200 messages of history, 20 Inspiration replies a day, 1 concurrent chat per character
- Reply caps and memory by tier: 225 / 275 / 325 / 450 / 550 / 650 characters from Free to Imperial; memory from 8K to 24K on Elite and Imperial; history from 200 to 1,500 messages
- Money spent: $58.88 for one year of Standard, cancelled from account settings so it does not renew
- Not tested with my own card: Premium and above, the Chat Package add-on, the iOS in-app prices, and the $0.99 age-check charge reported by other users
What CrushOn gets right
CrushOn is the cheapest paid uncensored chat that actually works
Standard costs $58.88 a year, about $4.91 a month, and buys 2,000 message credits a month on the Pro models, unlimited chat on the basic ones, 275-character replies and group chat. Nothing else on the NSFW list gets you a permissive filter and a real library for less: SpicyChat's cheapest tier is $5.95 a month and buys no memory, Nastia's is $6.69 on annual billing. If you chat in short bursts and mostly on the basic models, a year of CrushOn costs what two months of Kindroid cost, and the free tier above it is genuinely unlimited rather than a demo.
The filter is off, the library is enormous, and the rules are written down
NSFW lives behind a toggle that is off by default; once it is on, adult fiction between adult characters goes through with few interruptions, and the community's characters are built on that assumption. The guidelines are clearer than the marketing: no characters who are minors or whose age is not clearly over 18, including aged-up ones; no non-consensual intimate imagery; no real or overly realistic images of real people; no bestiality with real animals; no gore meant to shock. Human moderators and automated systems enforce them. Adults writing adult fiction do not meet the wall, and the wall is where it should be.
The tiers are laid out in numbers, not adjectives
The pricing page is a grid: credits per month, maximum reply length in characters, memory in K, messages of history, Inspiration replies per day, concurrent chats, voice slots, credit-purchase discount. Free is 100 credits, 225 characters, 8K, 200 messages of history; Imperial is 125,000 credits, 650 characters, 24K, 1,500 messages, 30 concurrent chats and 30 custom voice slots. I disagree with the ladder having six rungs, but I never had to guess what a rung contained, which is more than Replika or Talkie let me say.
Voice replies, group chat and Inspiration replies come cheap
Every tier, including free, gets unlimited AI voice replies and at least one custom voice slot; group chat opens at Standard on what the page calls a unique model with 8K memory; Inspiration replies, the suggested-answer buttons that keep a scene moving, run from 20 a day on free to 350 on Imperial. On most competitors voice is a top-tier feature or a per-minute meter. On CrushOn it is a checkbox on the free plan, and in my testing it worked, with the same terse replies read aloud.
I send one email a week with the companion apps that changed price, the ones that quietly cut a feature, and what each one really costs once credits and caps are counted. No hype, one field.
Where CrushOn frustrated me
The privacy policy is an F: your chats train the models, and you cannot opt out
The policy, last modified March 6, 2025, says it in one sentence: 'For all contents generated from the chat, we will only use such contents in a general way for training our models and we will not link chat contents to specific users.' There is no opt-out, no stated retention period beyond 'as long as reasonably necessary', and the third-party list includes advertising platforms. The terms grant a perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable licence to your submissions. The operator is TECHIEPIE LTD in Nicosia, Cyprus, disputes go to Hong Kong law, and the footer lists a US office. That combination scores 34 out of 100 on the privacy scorecard, the lowest on the NSFW list alongside Joyland.
Reply caps make the cheap plans terse, and the basic models repeat themselves
A 225-character cap on free and 275 on Standard means a reply of two or three sentences, every time, whatever the scene needs. The basic models are fine for a quick exchange and loop within twenty messages of a long one; the Pro models are noticeably better and eat credits at a rate that empties the free allowance in two evenings and Standard's 2,000 in a heavy week. Memory on Standard is the 8K window plus a history of a few hundred messages, and my long-roleplay script drifted about as far as SpicyChat's free tier did. The 24K memory that makes long scenes work is on Elite and Imperial, at $799.99 and $1,799.99 a year.
Six rungs, credits, coins, bonus packs and an add-on: the bill is hard to predict
Above Standard and Premium sit Luxe ($299.99 a year), Elite ($799.99) and Imperial ($1,799.99), tiers that exist for people who run dozens of concurrent chats. Then there is the Pro Models Chat Package, an add-on the page advertises without a price; bonus message packs of 1,000 and 3,000; coins that convert one-to-one into messages; and credit-purchase discounts that change by tier. The monthly figures on the pricing page ($4.90, $7.90, $25) are the annual price divided by twelve, not a monthly billing option; Standard and Premium are sold as a year up front. For a first month on CrushOn there is no first month, only a first year.
Nothing is refundable, the statement line is a third party, and users report a $0.99 age check
The terms say usage fees and virtual items are non-refundable except where the law requires, the FAQ says the current subscription period is non-refundable, and cancellation must be done before the renewal date from account settings or the app store. Payments run through SubscribeStar and Paymentwall, so the statement line is a processor's name rather than CrushOn, which is discreet but confuses people at renewal. Trustpilot sits at 1.8 from 22 reviews, and the recurring 2026 complaint is a $0.99 card charge presented as age verification to switch on the 18+ toggle, plus repeated age prompts mid-chat. I was not asked for it; enough users were that it belongs here.

Who should actually use CrushOn
People who want the loosest filter and the biggest adult character library for the least money, who chat in short scenes rather than long ones, and who are fine paying a year up front. If that is you, Standard at $58.88 a year is the best value on the NSFW list, and the free tier is a real way to decide first: unlimited on the basic models, no card asked.
People who care what a company can do with their chats, who want long replies and a companion that remembers weeks, or who need a monthly plan should look elsewhere. SpicyChat has the clearer rules and docs for $5.95 a month, Nastia and Secrets are the uncensored companions with better policies, and Kindroid is in a different league on memory at $13.99. The privacy scorecard has the grades side by side, and the NSFW ranking has the whole field.
CrushOn pricing explained: credits, caps and the six rungs
CrushOn pricing is a grid with six paid rungs, one add-on and three kinds of extra credit, and the most useful thing I can tell you is which two numbers matter: the reply cap and the credit pool. The cap decides how the characters talk; the pool decides how often you get the better models. Everything else on the page is for people running thirty chats at once. The figures below are from crushon.ai/pricing on September 27, 2026.
The free tier on CrushOn: unlimited, but 225 characters at a time
Free gives you unlimited chat on the basic models, 100 message credits a month for the Pro models, replies capped at 225 characters, 8K memory with about 200 messages of history, 20 Inspiration replies a day, one concurrent chat per character, voice replies and a single custom voice slot. No card at signup. The word to hold on to is unlimited: unlike SpicyChat’s daily cap or Candy AI’s paywall after a few messages, you can chat on CrushOn all day for nothing. The catch is the shape of the chat. At 225 characters a reply is two or three sentences, and the basic models start repeating their favourite phrases within twenty messages of a long scene. The free NSFW AI chat list compares it with the other free tiers on exactly that point: the most chat, the tersest characters.
Standard and Premium: what $58.88 and $94.88 a year buy
Standard is $58.88 a year, which the page shows as $4.90 a month; there is no monthly billing for it, so the first purchase is a year. It buys 2,000 credits a month for the Pro models, 275-character replies, group chat on an 8K model, longer history, more concurrent chats and a small discount on credit packs. Premium is $94.88 a year, about $7.91 a month, for 6,000 credits, 325-character replies and more of everything. Standard is the plan I paid for and the one most readers should consider: 2,000 credits lasted me a normal week of Pro-model chat and ran out in a heavy one, and the 275-character cap is noticeably less cramped than 225 without being generous. Premium is for people who live on the Pro models. Compared with the real monthly cost of the field, Standard is the cheapest confirmed paid plan on the site.
Luxe, Elite, Imperial and the Pro Models Chat Package
Luxe ($299.99 a year, 20,000 credits, 450-character adjustable replies), Elite ($799.99, 55,000 credits, 550 characters, 24K memory) and Imperial ($1,799.99, 125,000 credits, 650 characters, 24K memory, 1,500 messages of history, 30 concurrent chats, 30 voice slots, 25 percent off credit packs) are tiers for a different kind of user, and the only reason they matter to a normal reader is that the 24K memory that makes long scenes hold together lives up there. The Pro Models Chat Package is advertised on the same page as an add-on to any membership, without a price; our September 22 check and third-party reports put it at $24.99 a month on annual billing or $39.99 monthly, and I could not confirm either on the page. Then there are bonus message packs of 1,000 and 3,000, coins that convert one-to-one into messages once your pool is empty, and tier-based discounts on packs. It is the most granular pricing in the category, and the least predictable bill.
CrushOn models, memory and what the free tier really gives you
CrushOn does not name its models. The pricing page groups them as Free, Pro and Ultra, the FAQ does not list them, and the interface shows a model picker whose entries change over time. What I can describe is how the three groups behaved and how the memory tiers work, because those are what you are buying.
Free, Pro and Ultra models on CrushOn
The basic models are quick, in character and shallow: fine for a short scene, repetitive in a long one, and prone to the same escalation and reassurance patterns after a few dozen messages. The Pro models are a real step up in range and consistency and are the reason the credit pool exists; my argument script, where the character has to hold a position I keep attacking, held up on the Pro models about as well as on SpicyChat’s mid-tier and worse than on Kindroid. The Ultra models sit behind the Chat Package and the top tiers and I have not paid for them; users describe them as the same again, better. Whatever the group, the reply cap of your plan applies, so a Pro model on Standard still answers in 275 characters, which flattens the difference more than the price list suggests.
Memory and history: 8K to 24K, 200 to 1,500 messages
CrushOn states memory in two numbers per tier: a context size (8K on free and the lower tiers, 24K models on Elite and Imperial) and a history length (200 messages on free rising to 1,500 on Imperial). In practice, on Standard, my long-roleplay script kept the setup for a few dozen exchanges and lost the planted detail at about the point SpicyChat’s free tier did; there is no memory panel to inspect or pin, so when a character forgets, you retype. The 2026 change that third-party trackers describe as extending recall past 100 messages is visible in the history numbers, and it is concentrated on the tiers most people will not buy. If memory is what you want, Nastia at a similar price and Kindroid at three times the price both do it better; CrushOn’s advantage is volume and permissiveness, not recall.
Group chat, Inspiration replies and voice
Group chat opens at Standard on what the page calls a unique model with 8K memory; three characters in a scene worked, with the usual muddle past four. Inspiration replies are suggested next lines, 20 a day on free and 350 on Imperial, and they are more useful than they sound on a platform where the characters are terse: they keep a scene moving when the reply cap has cut it short. Voice replies are on every tier, including free, with custom voice slots from 1 to 30; the voices are serviceable and read the same short replies aloud. None of it changes the basic proposition, which is text chat with a loose filter at a low price.
CrushOn app, NSFW toggle and age verification
The FAQ lists an iOS app in the App Store and an Android app distributed as an APK from crushon.ai, with separate cancellation instructions for each, and the homepage pushes the Android download. The web version has the full feature set and is the one I tested; in-app prices on iOS can be higher than the web’s, and refunds on app-store purchases follow Apple’s and Google’s rules rather than CrushOn’s. If a store-listed iPhone app matters to you, this is one of the few uncensored platforms that still has one, which the character AI alternatives list counts in its favour.
The NSFW toggle is off by default and lives in settings. Switching it on is where the 2026 Trustpilot complaints cluster: several reviewers describe a $0.99 card charge presented as age verification before the toggle unlocks, and repeated age prompts mid-conversation afterward. My account was not asked for the charge, so I cannot confirm the mechanism, but the pattern is consistent enough across reviews to plan for. The terms require users to be 18 and of legal age in their jurisdiction, and the footer carries a 2257 compliance statement, which is unusual for a chat platform and tells you how the company thinks about its content. The laws guide has the background on why age checks are spreading.
Privacy on CrushOn: why it scores an F
CrushOn scores 34 out of 100 on the privacy scorecard, the lowest grade on the NSFW list, and unlike some platforms that fail through vagueness, CrushOn fails through clarity. The privacy policy, last modified March 6, 2025, states: ‘For all contents generated from the chat, we will only use such contents in a general way for training our models and we will not link chat contents to specific users.’ There is no opt-out. Retention is ‘for so long as it is reasonably necessary’, with no period. Third parties include vendors, hosting providers, advertising platforms and the social login providers. Account closure is via [email protected] per the policy and via the Settings button per the FAQ, with a three-day window before deletion is permanent.
The terms, revised September 22, 2026, add the rest: TECHIEPIE LTD of Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus is the operator, Hong Kong law governs, and users grant a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable licence to the intellectual property in their submissions. The same terms contain a clause forbidding users from transmitting pornographic or sexually explicit material, which on a platform titled no-filter NSFW chat reads as boilerplate aimed at uploads rather than at the chat itself; I note it because a rule the company could enforce whenever it chose is a rule worth knowing about. The safety guide has the general advice, and on CrushOn it applies without exception: separate login, no real name, no photos of real people, nothing you would mind in a training set.
CrushOn billing, cancellation and support
Payments go through SubscribeStar or Paymentwall, so the line on your statement is the processor’s name, not CrushOn’s. That is discreet, and it is also why a renewal surprises people a year later. Subscriptions renew automatically; the FAQ walks through cancelling on the web, in the App Store and in Google Play, and says cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle with no further charges. Refunds are the flat no that most of the category gives: usage fees and virtual items are non-refundable except where the law requires, and the current period is not refunded on cancellation. Because Standard and Premium are sold as a year, the practical rule is to spend a free week deciding, then buy the year knowing it is final.
Support is a ticket through the site and a Discord community; the FAQ is the most useful document CrushOn publishes, and the Trustpilot profile, at 1.8 from 22 reviews, is dominated by billing and moderation complaints rather than praise.
CrushOn: frequently asked questions
Is CrushOn AI free, and what are the free tier limits in 2026?
Yes, and the free tier is more generous than most on chat volume and stingier on everything else. You get unlimited messages on the basic models, 100 message credits a month for the Pro models, replies capped at 225 characters, 8K memory with about 200 messages of history, 20 Inspiration replies a day, one chat per character and voice replies. No card is needed to start. The 100 credits go in an evening or two, after which the upgrade prompt is permanent.
What is CrushOn AI, and who runs it?
CrushOn AI is a no-filter character chat platform where you talk to user-made characters, most of them adult, or build your own, with an NSFW toggle that unlocks explicit fiction between adults. It launched in 2023 and grew on the Character.AI exodus. It is operated by TECHIEPIE LTD, registered in Cyprus with an office in Nicosia and a US address in the footer, under Hong Kong governing law. It runs on the web, as an iOS app and as an Android APK from the site.
How much does CrushOn AI cost per month?
There is no monthly plan for the main tiers. Standard is $58.88 a year, about $4.91 a month, and Premium is $94.88 a year, about $7.91; the monthly figures on the pricing page are the annual price divided by twelve. Luxe, Elite and Imperial cost $299.99, $799.99 and $1,799.99 a year. On top of a membership you can buy bonus message packs of 1,000 or 3,000, use coins one-to-one as messages, and add the Pro Models Chat Package, which the page advertises without a price.
What are message credits on CrushOn, and what uses them?
Credits are the meter for the better models. Chat on the basic models is unlimited on every tier; each message to a Pro or Ultra model spends a credit from your monthly pool: 100 on free, 2,000 on Standard, 6,000 on Premium, 20,000 on Luxe, 55,000 on Elite, 125,000 on Imperial. When the pool is empty you buy packs, use coins, or wait for the reset. Higher tiers also get a discount of 5 to 25 percent on credit packs.
Is CrushOn AI safe and private?
Safe in the sense of a real, registered company with written content rules and human plus automated moderation, yes. Private, no: the policy says chat contents are used to train the models with no opt-out, sets no retention period, lists advertising platforms among third parties, and the terms grant a perpetual licence to what you submit. It scores an F on the privacy scorecard. Use a separate login, keep real names and photos out, and treat every chat as stored.
Does CrushOn AI have an app?
Yes. The FAQ lists an iOS app in the App Store and an Android app distributed as an APK from crushon.ai rather than Google Play; cancellation instructions differ by platform and in-app prices on iOS can be higher than on the web. The web version has the full feature set and is the one I tested. Independent testers and Trustpilot reviewers describe the same product across all three.
Does CrushOn AI have a filter, and what stays banned?
The NSFW toggle is off by default and, once on, explicit fiction between adult characters goes through. The community guidelines ban characters who are minors or whose age is not clearly over 18, including aged-up ones, non-consensual intimate imagery, real or photorealistic images of real people, bestiality with real animals, and gore meant to shock. The 2257 compliance statement in the footer and the 18-and-over rule in the terms apply to everyone.
Can I get a refund from CrushOn AI, and how do I cancel?
Refunds no: the terms say usage fees and virtual items are non-refundable except where the law requires, and the FAQ says the current subscription period is non-refundable; app-store purchases follow Apple's and Google's rules. Cancel from account settings on the web, or from your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, before the renewal date; access continues to the end of the paid period. The charge appears under the payment processor, SubscribeStar or Paymentwall, not CrushOn.
The verdict: is CrushOn worth it?
CrushOn earns 7.0 out of 10: the cheapest paid uncensored chat that delivers, a free tier that is unlimited on the basic models, the loosest filter with rules that are still written down, voice on every plan, and a pricing grid that says exactly what each rung contains, held back by 225-to-325-character replies on the plans people actually buy, basic models that loop, a six-rung ladder with credits, coins and an unpriced add-on, no refunds, a third-party statement line, and a privacy policy that trains on your chats with no opt-out.
If price and permissiveness are the point, buy a year of Standard after a free week. If memory, writing or privacy is the point, SpicyChat, Nastia or Kindroid. The NSFW ranking has all of them side by side.
I test these platforms full-time, pay with my own card, and publish hands-on reviews every few days. Compare the whole adult field before you commit to a year up front.
