DarLink Review (2026): Roleplay, Memory, Images and Video in One Swiss Web App

Verdict. DarLink AI packs roleplay, three memory tiers, images and short video into a $12.99 web app; start small, because media runs on tokens and refunds are strict.

DarLink AI gives you more for its entry price than most AI girlfriend apps I track: the $12.99 Essential plan lists 6,000 messages a month, NSFW chat, six voices, basic memory, 100 coins, and image and video generation at a fixed 2 tokens per image and 20 per video. It is built by FameLink SA, a registered company in the Swiss canton of Jura, and the company name and street address sit in the footer of every page on darlink.ai. The feature people talk about most is the memory ladder, which ends in "Living memory" on the Ultimate plan. If you want to chat with one companion, see her in pictures and watch short clips of her in the same browser tab, DarLink is built for exactly that.

I went through every price screen DarLink shows, the three legal pages in its footer, all 11 Trustpilot reviews, the Google Play results for the name, and six independent write-ups with hands-on notes. The headline numbers: you can sign up, browse the character library and start a chat for free, but DarLink does not publish the free limits, and outside testers report anything from 3 messages to 50 a day. Essential costs $12.99 a month, Advanced $27.99 and Ultimate $49.99. Yearly billing is reported at $9.99, $18.99 and $32.99 a month. A chat-first month costs $12.99 flat. A month with a handful of videos adds a $9.99 token pack.

This DarLink AI review is for adults who want to know, tonight, whether DarLink deserves a card number. Six years of QA work on mobile games taught me to read every price screen until the app tells the truth, and I still keep a spreadsheet of what each companion really costs once coins and images are counted. The one thing to know before paying: DarLink treats purchases as final. A refund is only considered within 24 hours of purchase, with minimal use, and even then it is discretionary. So start with one month of Essential, not a year of Ultimate. If you like it, moving up later costs you nothing extra.

DarLink AI sells three subscriptions, and the plan page lists them plainly. Essential is $12.99 a month and includes 6,000 messages, 100 coins, NSFW access, six standard voices, Basic memory and Quick Roleplay creation. Advanced is $27.99 a month and raises that to 9,000 messages and 300 coins, with the fastest messaging speed, ten premium voices, Enhanced memory and Deep Roleplay creation. Ultimate is $49.99 a month for unlimited messages, 500 coins, Living memory, Unlimited Roleplay creation and the Elite Roleplay Engine. The page also shows daily equivalents ($0.43, $0.93 and $1.67 a day) and a countdown timer above the plans. You can ignore the timer: the monthly prices were the same in independent checks from June and July and in mine on September 30.

Coins arrive with your plan every month, and extra tokens are sold in packs from the token store. Media is priced in tokens on every plan: 2 per image and 20 per video. Chat messages come out of your message allowance, not your coins. Here is what the packs work out to, using the listed pack prices and my own arithmetic:

Token pack Price Cost per token Cost per image Cost per video
100 $9.99 about $0.10 about $0.20 about $2.00
350 $34.99 about $0.10 about $0.20 about $2.00
550 $49.99 about $0.09 about $0.18 about $1.82
1,150 $99.99 about $0.087 about $0.17 about $1.74
3,750 $299.99 about $0.08 about $0.16 about $1.60
7,500 $599.99 about $0.08 about $0.16 about $1.60

Buying in bulk lowers the price per token from about 10 cents to 8 cents, a saving of roughly 20%, not the 50% some reviews quote.

For my spreadsheet, the useful question is what a month really costs. A chat-first month on Essential is $12.99 flat. A mixed month with 20 images (40 tokens) and 5 videos (100 tokens) needs 140 tokens, so Essential’s 100 coins fall 40 short and one $9.99 pack brings the month to $22.98. At that level of use, Advanced at $27.99 includes 300 coins plus better memory for $5.01 more. Yearly billing is reported at $9.99, $18.99 and $32.99 a month, but I would never commit to a year before a month. My guide to what AI companions really cost per month runs the same math across the whole field.

The Generator sits in the DarLink main menu next to Chat and Explore. You choose image or video, start from one of your characters or a new visual, then use preset options or a text prompt. Images are reported to take around 30 seconds each. Video is image-to-video: a still of your character is animated into a short clip, reported at 5 to 10 seconds long. Adult content is available to adult users on paid plans, within DarLink’s content rules, which I cover in the safety section below. I will keep this part factual: the generator makes images and short clips of your companion, and the rules decide what you can ask for.

Reports on images are mostly positive. Testers describe good character consistency across poses and outfits, and one long test found the failure rate on stills close to zero. Video draws more complaints. Trustpilot reviewers mention slow renders, short clips and prompts that are not followed closely, and one felt the realistic style leans toward a single polished look. One independent test timed a video at about five minutes. On the other side, a 5-star Trustpilot reviewer called the media quality excellent, and testers who got clean clips describe watching their character move as a real step beyond static selfies. My read: images are dependable, and video is a bonus that works some of the time.

Here is what the monthly coins buy on their own, before any extra packs:

Plan Monthly coins Images only Videos only Mixed example
Essential 100 50 5 30 images and 2 videos
Advanced 300 150 15 100 images and 5 videos
Ultimate 500 250 25 150 images and 10 videos

Two habits stretch the budget. Make stills until one looks right, then animate that one, since video starts from an image anyway. And check your coin balance before a long session, so a run of videos does not surprise you. If video is your main reason to sign up, compare with OurDream AI, which puts chat, images, video and voice calls on one plan.

DarLink sells memory by plan: Basic on Essential, Enhanced on Advanced and Living memory on Ultimate. The plan page names the tiers but does not explain how much each one stores. Independent tests fill in some detail. Basic memory is reported to recall roughly the last 100 messages. Enhanced memory tracks your preferences over a longer span; one tester noticed a character teasing them later about a dislike mentioned only once. Living memory is described as holding more than 30 days of context, with the character raising old topics without being asked. Treat those as reports, not specifications, because DarLink has not published any.

Testers call DarLink one of the livelier chat companions, with varied replies and characters that stay in their scenario rather than slipping into a generic assistant voice. Others describe the chat as good rather than remarkable, with slightly less emotional range than apps built only for conversation. Complaints cluster on Essential: one Trustpilot reviewer found characters ignored scene changes on that plan, then found Ultimate far better. DarLink does not say which AI model powers the chat, so I cannot tell you whether the tiers use different models. The only official hint is that Ultimate adds the Elite Roleplay Engine.

Essential lists six standard voice options; Advanced and Ultimate list ten premium ones. One independent test found that turning a message into a voice clip costs no tokens, though it described several voices as flat. Roleplay creation scales the same way as memory: Quick on Essential, Deep on Advanced and Unlimited on Ultimate. If you mostly want scenes that last one evening, Essential covers it. If you want a long story that picks up where it left off, the memory tier matters more than anything else on the page, so that is where your extra dollars should go.

DarLink AI is operated by FameLink SA, Les Mengartes 37, 2828 Montsevelier, Jura, Switzerland, as printed in the site footer. Independent readings of the terms give the registration number CHE-443.347.069. A community wiki says FameLink was founded in 2023 and that darlink.ai was registered in November 2023; I could not confirm those dates on an official page. DarLink AI is not yet graded in my privacy scorecard.

According to two independent readings of the privacy policy, DarLink collects account details, text and voice messages, images you send in chat, device identifiers, IP addresses and usage logs. One-to-one conversations are not shown to other users. The policy lets DarLink analyze chats and use anonymized conversation data to improve its AI, and it discloses Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel cookies. DarLink says it does not sell or rent personal data, encrypts data in transit, and deletes data it learns came from anyone under 18. The terms let you keep ownership of what you create but grant DarLink a broad, perpetual license to process and use it to run and improve the service. I found no stated retention period for chats. Treat every chat as stored cloud data: use a nickname and a separate email, and never share your address, ID or bank details. My guide on whether AI companion apps are safe covers the same habits.

The site footer shows a Visa logo, and independent checks report card payments for monthly and yearly plans, plus crypto for yearly plans. Plans renew automatically. The refund policy and terms treat purchases as final, with a discretionary review for requests within 24 hours and minimal use, and full refunds for verified fraud. The refund page asks you to email [email protected] and allow about 72 hours for a reply; the terms name [email protected] for refund requests, so write to both if the first stays silent. A few Trustpilot users struggled to find the cancel option, and one who signed up with Google had account trouble when managing the plan, so check on day one that you can open your subscription settings.

DarLink is for adults only, and every paid plan lists NSFW access. According to a summary of the terms, content involving minors, non-consent, animals, extreme violence and gore is banned. One tester describes adult features as limited to paid, age-verified adults; I found no public detail on how that age check works. Testers describe the rules as reasonable for adult roleplay, and I found no reports of a filter firing on tame scenes. How I handle adult topics on this site is set out in my adult content policy.

The DarLink AI official website is darlink.ai. Everything happens there: Chat, Generator, Explore, My AI, Tokens and Subscription sit in the main menu, and the footer names FameLink SA with its Jura address. If a site or app does not show that company name, it is not the DarLink this review covers. Type the domain yourself or use a bookmark, and your account and payments go to the right place.

I found no app from FameLink SA in Google Play or the App Store, and one independent tester describes DarLink as web-only with no native iOS or Android app. Apps using the name do exist. On Google Play, “DarLink AI: AI Girlfriend” is published by AI CHAT STUDIO, a developer registered as BLUESTAR ENTERPRISE in Surat, India; it is rated for 3+, has 1K+ downloads, contains ads, and the same developer lists apps named after other companion brands. Another app called “DarLink - AI Girlfriend Chat”, from Nexora Labs Solution, was removed from Google Play on June 17, 2026 after about 3,200 downloads and a 1.6 rating. On the App Store, an app named DarLink belongs to a healthcare booking company. There is also darlink-ai.org, a separate site describing the product, which is not the official domain, and darlin.ai, an unrelated gaming companion.

Open darlink.ai in your phone browser and log in; the site is built to fit phone screens. Testers note you can add it to your home screen as a shortcut, though there is no offline mode and you miss app-style notifications. On desktop it is the smoothest way to use DarLink. For a companion you visit in the evening, a home-screen shortcut does the job well enough.

The Trustpilot page for darlink.ai showed a TrustScore of 2.6 out of 5 from 11 reviews when I checked: 55% one-star, 18% two-star, no three-star, 18% four-star and 9% five-star. Trustpilot notes that the company has not invited reviews recently, so the sample may not be representative, and that it has not replied to negative reviews. Eleven reviews is a small sample for a site that DatingScout estimates at about 1.1 million visits a month, so I read it as a list of things to check, not a verdict.

Support runs through email at [email protected], with about 72 hours for a reply according to the refund page, plus a contact page on darlink.ai. The footer also links a Discord server (discord.gg/darlink), an X account (@TryDarLinkAI), an Instagram account and a blog. I found no public status page or outage history. If you need help with a charge, email first and keep the thread; it is faster and more private than a bank dispute.

The praise repeats around lively, in-character roleplay, the Ultimate memory, the character builder and the entry price. The complaints repeat around video speed and quality, image prompts that are not followed closely, a cancel option that is hard to find, one missing confirmation email, and one reviewer who says a renewal charged far more than the first period. One independent reviewer also argues that much of the online buzz around DarLink looks coordinated, which is a good reason to judge the product rather than the hype, exactly what the free preview is for. How I weigh user reports against documents is explained in my test protocol.

The verdict: is DarLink AI worth it?

DarLink AI does its best work as an all-in-one companion: a character you design in five styles, chat that testers call lively, three memory tiers, and images and short clips at a fixed token price. Memory gets 7 out of 10, because Living memory is well reported but sits on the $49.99 plan and Basic memory draws complaints. Conversation gets 7, with varied, in-character replies but a little less depth than chat-only apps. Pricing gets 7: the $12.99 entry is the lowest of the four apps I compared and media costs are clear, but tokens add up and refunds are strict. Privacy gets 6: a named Swiss company and clear documents, balanced by stored chats, training use and a chargeback clause. DarLink AI earns 6.8 out of 10.

How to start: open darlink.ai yourself, not a look-alike app, sign up free and browse until a character or style clicks. Then buy one month of Essential at $12.99 and spend your 100 coins mostly on images, with one or two videos to see how they render for you. If you find yourself wishing she remembered last week, move to Advanced or Ultimate for a month. Switch to yearly billing only after a full month on a plan you know you will keep. For a chat-first adult who wants pictures and the odd clip in the same place, DarLink is an easy one to try tonight.

Not sure this one is your match?

The quickest test is the free preview on darlink.ai, then one month of Essential at $12.99. If you want to see how DarLink AI stacks up first, every adult platform I have tested is ranked side by side.
